Desiree Farooz, of CodePink, a lunatic left fringe anti-war group at the forefront of the faux progressive movement, assaults the Secretary of State today, the latest in a continuing series of bizarre public displays which only serve to undermine the cause of legitimate peace activists.

Condoleezza Rice Attacked At Capitol Hill Hearing

(CBS) WASHINGTON An anti-war demonstrator accosted Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as she arrived to testify at a hearing on Capitol Hill, shouting "war criminal" before being dragged away by security.

Members of the Capitol Police department also removed several members of the anti-war group "Code Pink" from the House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing room, who struggled as they left.

The hearing began on schedule and Rice's testimony did not appear to be affected by the incident.

For these hypocritical "activists" who worship peace like its a god and then go around assaulting people they don't agree with, apparently there is no publicity stunt too absurd for them to self-justify.

Conspiracy Site du Jour

Oh, my, this is a textbook example of manipulators leading the disaffected, so unbelievable it warrants establishing a new "du jour" category for conspiracy sites.

Apparently these deceivers have no problem with overlooking logical fallacies in order to suggest the Bush Administration had something to do with Cho's rampage.

Appropriately so, Gonzales' testimony was delayed because of the horrific mass murder which had taken place at Virginia Tech the previous day.

Senate Delays Gonzales Testimony on Firings

After Slayings at College, Judiciary Panel Moves Session on Prosecutors to Thursday

Washington Post Staff Writers

The Senate Judiciary Committee canceled testimony scheduled for today from Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales after concluding that the hearing would be inappropriate in the wake of yesterday's mass slayings at Virginia Tech.

Committee Chairman Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) said he postponed the hearing, which will focus on the dismissal of eight U.S. attorneys, until Thursday after conferring with Gonzales and the committee's ranking Republican, Sen. Arlen Specter (Pa.).

"I'm sure that he will want to be dealing with the matters of the shooting," Leahy said of Gonzales.

Justice Department spokeswoman Tasia Scolinos said: "The attorney general would like to testify as soon as possible. But out of respect for the family members impacted by this horrific tragedy he will defer to the chairman's judgment on when to hold the hearing."

Still, there are probably a few self-anointed "investigative journalists" out there in the blogosphere so driven by their all-consuming and debilitating hatred for Bush they will try to suggest Cho's sister "made him do it" as part of an Administration conspiracy to delay Gonzales' testimony.

"Progressive" Fundies

Just a placeholder for now, more later...

Conspiracy Site de la Semaine

Here's another dark corner of the "progressive" blogosphere which deserves to be brought into the light.

http://www.stopbigmedia.com/

Unsurprisingly, it's a direct offshoot from the manufacturers of outrage over at FreePress, and you can be sure that whack-job Robert McChesney is somehow involved. (Yes, indeed, he boasts of being co-founder of FreePress.)

Somewhere along the line faux progressives have confused our constitutionally-protected right to freedom of speech with the need for yet another government-run program which mandates forced listening to "alternative viewpoints."

The truth of the matter is the American people are well aware of these alternative viewpoints and are merely giving them attention commensurate with their perceived legitimacy, efficacy and sanity.

From the FreePress homepage:
Free Press is a national, nonpartisan organization working to reform the media. Through education, organizing and advocacy, we promote diverse and independent media ownership, strong public media, and universal access to communications.

Here we have yet another one-stop shop for some of the most blatantly liberal propaganda ever assembled, and still they have the unmitigated gall to bill themselves as a nonpartisan organization?

Just check out the ghoulish lineup from FreePress' most recent media "fright fest." These are not tolerant people seeking freedom and diversity in the marketplace of ideas, but rather an extremely small (yet quite vocal) minority dead set on bringing the power of the government to bear in cramming their anti-American and anti-Christian rhetoric down our throats.

Oh, my, faux progressives caught arrogantly and hypocritically preaching to others about "truth" again. Apparently their notion of speaking truth to power occurs when one lies through their teeth and suckers enough people into believing it.
